On the morning of February 24, 2023, the School of Physical Science and Technology held its first faculty meeting of the year in Room 30334 at the Xipu Campus. All faculty members attended the meeting, which was chaired by Secretary Liu Yu. Secretary Liu Yu conveyed the spirit of the Party member conference report of the School and gave a detailed explanation of the key contents regarding discipline construction, education and teaching. In particular, the opportunities and challenges facing the School, the overall work approach, and the objectives were explained. He hoped that all faculty members would learn and promote the spirit of the 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China and implement the spirit of the 15th Party Congress of the School accurately. They should grasp the era's requirements for the School’s development, foster virtue and educate people, serve national strategies, create a strong foundation in science, emphasize teaching, promote research, revitalize academic disciplines, cultivate new talents, and build a physically strong, high-level, vibrant, efficient, and coordinated School of Physics. They should make contributions to the Southwest Jiaotong University’s new chapter in the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation. 

Lastly, in accordance with the school's work arrangement, Secretary Liu Yu made work arrangements focusing on series of educational guidance in the "first lesson of the school year", requiring all teachers to deepen their understanding of students, strengthen educational guidance, and make efforts to return their education to normal. He emphasized that the School should effectively integrate Party building and ideological and political work into various aspects of their work. All faculty members should have a strong sense of responsibility, urgency and mission. They should unite, work hard, dare to be the first, and vigorously promote the high-quality development of the School.
