In order to implement the spirit of the "Deepening the Overall Plan for Education Evaluation Reform in the New Era" and the series of important speeches by General Secretary Xi Jinping on school aesthetic education, explore a model of education that promotes both "humanistic literacy and professional literacy," strengthen school aesthetic education, and cultivate comprehensive socialist builders and successors who are morally, intellectually, physically, aesthetically, and laborally developed, our school has launched the fifth "Yang Wen Xin Yi" college student cultural and artistic aesthetic and innovation training program (SCTP).

The relevant matters are notified as follows:

I. Background

To thoroughly study and implement the spirit of the 19th National Congress of the Communist Party of China, fully implement the Party's education policy, closely focus on the fundamental task of fostering virtue through education, actively promote the "Five Educations," comprehensively deepen the "three educations" to nurture talent, and strive to cultivate socialist builders and successors that are morally, intellectually, physically, aesthetically, and laborally developed. Our school actively responds to the Party's education policy, adheres to the concept of "educating people with beauty, beautifying people with beauty, and cultivating talents with beauty," continually explores new models of educating people in the new era, and strives to open up new platforms for our school's aesthetic education work, helping students to establish their confidence in Chinese culture.

II. Introduction

The Southwest Jiaotong University College Student Culture and Artistic Aesthetic and Innovation Training Program (SCTP) takes socialist core values as the guidance, promotes Chinese aesthetic education, and promotes outstanding original cultural and artistic creations on campus. It is a special training program aimed at enhancing the humanistic literacy of all students (undergraduate and graduate), focusing on the "original campus culture and the inheritance and innovation of outstanding Chinese traditional culture." The program aims to guide our students to actively search for the excellent traditional culture of our nation, respect and honor it, raise awareness, and the sense of responsibility for the inheritance and innovation of outstanding culture among the younger generation. The program also encourages our faculty and students to actively participate in discussing and creating campus cultural and artistic works, continue promoting the innovative development of original campus cultural and artistic creations, and explore and produce original campus cultural and artistic works that are deep in thought, excellent in artistic craftsmanship, and valuable for promotion. The project team needs to carry out, research, and implement the project under the specific guidance of the teacher, and form project results with practical guiding significance. The project can include two research categories:

Category A: Inheritance and Innovation of Excellent Chinese Traditional Culture Projects

The project covers the following areas: research on traditional Chinese thought and culture, traditional literature, traditional architectural cultural characteristics, traditional holiday and solar term culture; regional traditional culture (including minority regional culture) research, traditional Chinese chess, piano, calligraphy, painting, Chinese folk art exploration, and production of folk handicrafts.All declared projects must reflect the inheritance and innovation characteristics of excellent traditional Chinese culture, and the project outcomes need to promote the spirit of Chinese aesthetic education, have positive guidance significance and promotional value for the reality society.

Category B：The original campus cultural and artistic projects include music, dance, stage play, literature, painting, calligraphy, photography, art inspiration creation, micro-film, cultural and creative product design, and other cultural and artistic creations, which must be original works that have not been published or performed publicly before the application for project approval. The creation should have a distinctive theme, be deeply rooted in life, have characteristics of the times, adhere to the correct creative direction, reflect the core socialist values, advocate patriotism and love for the school, convey positive energy, and have high artistic, ideological, and dissemination value.

III. Project Requirements

1. Project Quantity: No more than 30 projects are expected to be approved.

2. Application Requirements: SCTP project is open to full-time undergraduate and graduate students of Southwest Jiaotong University. Each project must be fully guided by 1-2 teachers who can be professionals from within or outside the university, current counselors, and each supervisor can only guide one project per period. The total number of students per project should not exceed six, and each student can only lead or participate in one project in the same period. Project applicants must strictly follow the selected research scope.

3. Application Deadline: The application deadline for the 5th phase of the SCTP project is March 13, 2023, and it should be submitted to the college before 17:30.

4. Implementation Time: From April to November 2023.

5. Acceptance Time: The acceptance date for the project completion defense is November 2023.

6. Approval Process:

a. College preliminary selection: Interested applicants should submit a hardcopy of the application form to the teacher, Tiantian Ge, in X30349 by March 13, 2023, 17:30, and meanwhile send the electronic copy of the application form to 1640102263@qq.com.

b. Based on the project application, the Student Affairs Office of the University will organize project approval defense, invite experts for comprehensive evaluation, and publish the approval results on the Yanghua Quality Network before March 31, 2023.

7. Mid-term Defense: To ensure the effective implementation of the project, mid-term defense will be held in June 2023, to understand the project's implementation situation, and the projects with no research progress or deviation from the main theme will be terminated.

IV. Completion Requirements

After the SCTP project expires, the Student Affairs Office of the University will organize experts to conduct the project completion acceptance. During the acceptance, the completion application form and project work records must be submitted as required. In addition, project attachments must be offered, including the project implementation process, pictures, audio, video, electronic files of works, representative work original copies, news reports, research papers, survey questionnaires of the activity objects, etc.

V. Project Funding

After the project's acceptance, the university will provide funding support. Projects receiving an excellent rating will be rewarded and granted a certificate. Students who fully participate in the project and pass the final acceptance can apply for 2 credits in innovation and entrepreneurship.
